Eblogtemplates.com : This site offers some very good blog templates for free downloads. There are hundreds of templates for Blogger as well as WordPress most of which are free. However you may need to register there. Registering there allows you to download all the templates and also upload your own template(if you have created one).
Blogger –Buster : This site has some nice collection of blogger tutorials relating to customizing your design, using new widgets and some blog template collections. Definitely worth a look if you love using Blogger.

First of all, if you use firefox, you must install a good addon so that you can find your alexa ranking anytime. A good addon can be Search Status that not only tells you the alexa ranking but also the page rank of the site(page). Or else if you use I.E then install alexa toolbar.
If you have completed the first step you can set your blog as the home page of your browser.
Next, if there is any cyber cafe near, just make the administrator set the homepage of all the computers’ browsers as your blog. Or you could do this in your office. The concept is you have to set your blog as the homepage in as many computers as possible.
Increase traffic to your blog. That is what alexa is all about. So anywhere you respond to the articles, like in forums or blogs, just place the URL of any related article from your blog there in the comments. This will you will attract many visitors since your article is related to the article they are already reading. They will surely want to gain some extra knowledge.
Show off your alexa ranking on your blog through the alexa rank widget.
Through your blog suggest your readers to install the alexa toolbar. Doing this can surely increase your ranking because these readers will come again and again to your site. So if they have alexa toolbar your ranking will only go up.
Also do write about alexa on your site, even I am doing this right now.
Another way is using alexa autosurf programs. I do not recommend them but many webmasters say it works so you can just give it a try. But don’t forget I don’t recommend this.

How I Find Dofollow Blogs

In order to have a good page rank and search engine ranking you need to have dofollow backlinks from other blogs. But the problem is how to get those backlinks. So today I will tell you how to find dofollow blogs. See, submitting your blog to blog directories is also like getting dofollow links from blogs. Commenting on forums of related niche with your blog’s links as signature also works just the same. But if you want to have more links from interacting on other blogs then you have to find blogs that either have dofollow in their comments or have top commentators widget. In both cases you will have a good quality link pointing to your site. These are different methods you can use in order to find a link’s nofollow nature ( since a no-nofollow link is a dofollow).

Firstly, if you are using firefox, you can install Search Status addon. This addon not only tells you the page rank of every page you visit and the alexa rank of the site but also can be used to highlight those links which are of nofollow nature. So when you visit a blog and see the comment links, if they are highlighted in red, then they are nofollow.
Another way is to use different dofollow tools like Comment hunt, Comment Kahuna, Dofollow blogs Directory, Dofollow Search Engines, etc. I have used many of them but found that I was not satisfied with them.
You know, U Comment I Follow blogs have dofollow comments. However this is not the case with all the websites but atleast its a lot better than the previous technique. So whenever you find a blog that says U Comment I Follow just comment on it.
Another way to find if any link is nofollow or not is: right click on the link –> then click on PROPERTIES. There you will find if the link is nofollow or not, you will not miss it. This is the easiest way.

So this is what I will be going to tell you today, which plugins I like and use the most and can’t live without. Note that these are my personnel opinions on those plugins and I have never faced any problem with any of below listed plugins. So here they are :

Google XML Sitemap: Automatically creates .xml and .xml.gz type sitemps and submits it to Google, Ask.com, Yahoo and MSN.
Sociable: Includes subscription and bookmarking links to many Social Bookmarking services after every post automatically.
WP Thread Comment: Allows your readers to reply to each others comments.
WordPress Database Backup: Creates backups for your site automatically and on demand. You can also choose to recieve the backup through email. Many other options also available.
All In One SEO Pack: SEO your blog completely. Very easy to use plugin that assigns keywords and description to every page of your blog. You can choose from various options.

How I Install Plugins And Themes Without Uploading Them

When I was a newbie on the internet and the world of blogging(especially with WordPress) I was unable to change my WordPress blog’s template and add plugins to it. I didn’t know how to upload something to my blog. I was very upset not being able to customize my own blog . The feeling of not being able to do something with your own thing, you know. When I applied for a new hosting account they gave me a plugin already uploaded to the blog. And that plugin changed everything.

The plugin is One Click Installer designed by Anirudh Sanjeev. And thanks to him, from then on I have successfully added different themes and plugins to my blog without having to upload them. Because this plugin automatically uploads the templates and plugins from our computer. It can also directly upload the template(or plugin) from another website. And seriously, I have never have faced any problem with the plugin. The only thing it wants is that the template should be a zipped file. And the best part is it also has its own Firefox addon. New Entrecard Boomark And Dropping List

I have been using the Tysblog’s bookmark list for dropping fast for a month now. Although the list has exactly 300 sites but the problem with many of the sites is that some of them been deleted, some don’t load fast and some even don’t have any entrecard widget. This is why everyday even after dropping on all the sites in that list I was able to get only 220 or 230 drops in my account.

So now I bring you another bookmark list with many of new sites so that you can drop on exactly on 300 sites. Before you download this list I recommend you to first read Tyblog’s Powerdropping. This list comprises of many sites from Tysblog and UnpredictableLife.

Steps For Fast Dropping Through Bookmark List

First either download this text file or copy, paste it in notepad and save it to your hard drive.
Now if you have Firefox already then O.K and if not first read my article on Increasing Browsing Speed.
Now open Firefox. Click Bookmarks–>Organise Bookmarks–>File–>Import.
Then select From File. Now browse and select the text bookmark file you downloaded or saved. And then click Open.

Now your bookmark list is in your browser, restart your Firefox. Now from the Bookmarks everytime you select a group, 10 entresites will load at a time thus saving a lot of your time.. And don’t worry I will be regularly updating the list so that you can get 300 drops everyday. So whenever you find that any of the blogs in the list shows any problem delete the previous list and download the new one from Blog-o-Ninja.

One more thing, I will be updating this list everytime any blog has some problem in the list. So you can also have your blog listed in this bookmark list so that you can also also get automatically dropped. Just tell me your blog’s URL in the comment box and that’s it.

Blogger has recently released a new page element for Layout Blogs. Now the bloggers will be able to show their favourite blogs in a new Blog List widget. Its fast and its safe. I also use this technique and recommend this to every Entrecardian. There are almost 300 blogs in the bookmark list so you can earn 250 ECs easily within 20 to 30 minutes.

PowerDropping: This site includes 300 fast loading blogs. However some sites are slow but I think you should give it a try. The list is revised daily. So new and blogs can be seen frequently.

Inviting Other Bloggers To Drop

U Drop I Follow: This is growing like a revolution. There are currently around 200 blogs listed on Leedoyle.com. All you have to do is to put a badge around your Entrecard widget(EW). So whenever you drop a card on other “U Drop I Follow” blog the blogger tries the best to come to your site and drop his card. So the more cards you drop there the more drops you will recieve on your blog. Smart Thinking.
One more thing you should preferably place the Entrecard Widget above the fold on your blog. This will certainly increase the Dropping Ratio.

Other EC Techniques

The very easy and no effort way of getting ECs is to let other Entrecardians to advertise on your widget.
If you want you can also take part in contests being held on other blogs. Nowadays many bloggers are holding contests on their blogs giving away thousands of ECs. One of the most recent contests related to Entrecardians is that on Problogger.

O.K these are the techniques I use to earn around 350 ECs everyday spending at most an hour. Try all the above ones to get more profits but remember

You cannot drop more than 300 cards on other blogs in one day.
Don’t ever drop cards on pages with just Entrecard Widget and nothing else.

You must understand that your articles are most important for your blog. So these are the things you can do to make your blog posts effective.
1) Write about what you like or what you have expertise in; and don’t just copy the matter from somewhere else.
2) Try to be the first to write about something in your niche.
3) Try to entertain your readers by adding something creative in your blog posts. I include images, not just everytime but wherever necessary. I also try to vary the position of the image.
4) Include videos wherever necessary. For eg: You are writing a “how to” article. So with your article you can include a video from Youtube so that your readers better understand your article.

This is the day 6 Tutorial where I will show you how to add contact and about pages, some important widgets and finding great font styles and images for your blog. Previously I told you how to add post footer, bookmarking and subscription elements to your blog posts. So read on[...]

You can create a separate blog post and include information as “about me” page and title it as “About ME” and then provide the link of about me page on the top or elsewhere. If you don’t want the page to appear before other blog posts(on your homepage) you can edit the date of the “About ME” post. Similarly you can add Contact page to your site. I use Kontactr for my contact application.

If you want to display a selected amount of text from the beginning of each post as a teaser so that each post can be expanded from the main page of your site just like I have then read How To Add The Blogger “Read More” Expandable Posts Link.

Da Font offers great font styles that you can use in blog designing just like I do. And if you want great images for site you can try Flickr, Photobucket, Dreamstime and Stock Exchange.

Today I will show you how to add some important post, bookmarking and blog subscription elements. These elements are important if you want to not let your readers go away. So keep reading.[...]

I include “Add This” and RSS subscription link after every post on my blog so that my readers find it easier to bookmark and share my blog’s posts or subscribe to my blog. Subscription of RSS allows them to read my articles at their own ease(and of course in ad free format). So first if you want to add an “ADD THIS” or “SHARE THIS” button or just want to add the buttons of all bookmarking sites individually do this.
First go to Add This or Share This and get the code for your button or get the individual buttons of different sites. Now go to “Template”, then “Edit HTML”, then “Expand Widget Template”. Now find this line:

Now below this line copy the code given by AddThis or ShareThis. And it’s done.

Yesterday I told you how to create favicons, ad banner rotators and similar things and install them on your blog. Today I will show you some other tricks like creating your own banners for Clickbank ads, hiding navbar, editing header and footer, etc. So keep reading in order to make your blog more attractive.[...]

First is Navbar. Its upto you hide it or let it be there. There is practically no difference. If you want to hide the Navbar just open “EDIT TEMPLATE” copy the following code and paste it just before the “body” element and below the “variable definitions”:

Next comes creating banners for ad networks like Clickbank where they do not provide you with pre installed banners. First search the product, that you have the affiliate link of, on the net(like in Google). Try to get image of that product from somewhere. Save the image on your computer and then upload it to any image hosting server or alternatively you can just use the same URL of the image. Now wherever you want to add the banner click “add page element” in your template and paste the following code:

NOTE: Before pasting the code make sure to change YOUR-CLICKBANK-HOPLINK with your hoplink of the product that you get from Clickbank. PRODUCT-IMAGE-URL must be changed with the actual image URL of the product(direct image URL or the URL given by the image hosting server for the uploaded image). Change ALTERNATE-TEXT with the text you want to appear if the image doesn’t appear.

Yesterday I told you how to find great templates just like mine and implementing them to your blog. Today I will show you how to make minor but important changes to your blog template in order to make it more attractive like including favicon, images, banner rotators and much more. First comes finding good images on the net( or if you have them already in your computer that’s great). If you just include text in your blog it will make your readers bored and they will switch to something else. So in order to not have your readers “drained” away include images also between posts. I am not saying to fill your blog with just images but just include them wherever necessary. BLOGGER provides you with the uploading tools in your blog’s posts. So while writing articles you can just use BLOGGER to upload images. But sometimes there is a need to have some other 3rd party image hosting service. So read my article on Image Hosting by Photobucket.

Next comes favicon. If you use BLOGGER, you must be bored of that small old BLOGGER icon that appears in the browser box everytime you open your blog. This also affect your readers. If you are thinking of monetizing your blog by including ad banners that’s a good idea and if you are going to try more than one ad networks that’s even better. So now you have more than one ad units or lets take example you have in all 6 ad units 3 of which are 125×125 and the rest 478×60. The best way to find cool templates for every one can be searching on the internet but I bet you will not get what you want. So either you can go to my article on 70 Fresh Blog Templates or you go to E Blog Templates. You will definitely find something of your interest here. Download the template that you like to your computer.

O.K so now you have the template but if you are beginner then you may face many difficulties in applying the template to your blog. So I recommend you to go to David’s article on How to Install Blogger XML Template. Read that whole article and apply the methods step by step and I bet you surely will get your template up and running within half an hour. If you have any problem just leave a comment.

Here is the Day-1 tutorial for exactly how you can make your blog more attractive and at the same time user friendly. I have been blogging for quite sometime now and have the experience to tell you how one could start a better looking blog within 7 days. However I am not so creative at designing but I know much about how to design your blog and if you are creative you can do this better than me. So here you are, Day-1:[...]

First decide the keyword or theme you want to build your blog on. Next step is to create your blog. For more information on how to create your BLOGGER blog go to BLOGGER Tutorial. However there are more free blogging platforms out there, so read my article on Free Blogging Hosts.

Now comes the interesting part. First write some articles for your blog. These articles also play a key role on appearance of your blog. Make sure your blog’s title and title description contains the keywords of your theme. To make your blog more impactfull also try to include the keywords in the article titles, first and the last line of every article and the hyperlinks in the articles. This will not only help in your page rank but also tell your readers what your article is all about. The articles should not be forcibly elongated but they should be sufficiently long that your readers can understand what you are saying.

How I Added Comment Box To My Blogspot Blog

You must have notice that comment box below every article on Blog-o-Ninja and the cool looks. Blogger does not have any comment box as its features instead when your readers want to comment they are taken away from the page. Even I won’t want to comment on a blog that has no comment box and that opens the comment form in a new window. And now I will tell you how to add a comment box to your articles.[...]

Now I introduce you to Intense Debate. Just follow these steps and you will find your comment form under your posts just like what your seeing under my posts.
1) Click the following link it will take you to Intense Debate homepage.
2) On the top of the page you will be asked to enter your URL. Enter it.
3) You will see a new window. Now you will be asked what type of installation you want. Click on “Template Installation”. Then scroll down.
4) You will see some specifications to enter. On the option click “All New Posts”.

Scheduled Future Dated Posts in Blogger

You must have heard about the new feature that Blogger launched, The Scheduled Posts System. And if you haven’t heard about it then let me tell you. Posting your articles with a fixed frequency can surely impress your readers. But in case you are going for a vacation this weekend and you cannot post during this time, but still want your readers to get the articles with fixed frequency then what.[...] Here is where this Scheduled Posts Publishing comes into work. You write some articles that you want to be published when you are out of town, set the date to publish the articles. And then enjoy your vacations tension free. Blogger will automatically publish those articles on the set dates. I don’t know about others but I am surely going to give it a try. How I Changed My Blog’s Header

You can see that my blog’s header is not like the default BLOGGER header, however I am not so creative, but at least I can change it. You may be having problem by doing it the normal way, logging to BLOGGER account
1)Firstly you need to have a header banner image for your blog. You can find some banners at Bittbox. Or you can have any header background image from your computer or from internet.

2)First login to your blogger account and then open HTML editor. Now under

and

section find a line similar to this line:

#header{ float: left; width: 928px;height:125px; background-image:url(http://DEFAULT-IMAGE-URL); margin:0; padding:0;}

3)Now, in this line you can see the width and height of the default header image and the URL of the image. The width and height here are 928 and 125 respectively. But in your case it may be different. So consider that height and width and not the height and width shown here.

4)Note this width and height. Now open your image editor and edit and resize your(downloaded or from your computer) image accordingly. You can also add some text or any other image on your main image.
NOTE: You can edit any of your images by a software like GIMP or Photoshop or any other.

5) Save this image as .jpg, gif, or whatever.

6) Now open “Edit Page Element” of blogger account. And open “edit Header” and then upload your image. If the image is not of correct size then you can tick the option to resize image and BLOGGER will automaticaly do that. and then save it.

7) Alternatively, if you are having problem with the step#4. Then do this:
(a) Upload your image to an image hosting website. I used Photobucket. Make sure your image is of the correct size as we noticed in step#1.
(b) Now open your HTML editor in BLOGGER account. And in the same line that we noticed in step#1 replace the URL of the image given by your image hosting site with the default image URL.

Incase you want to hide your header do this:
First download your template(incase any error happens).
Now expand your template to find a line similar to this and insert a line where indicated:

#header h1 {
margin:5px 5px 0;
padding:15px 20px .25em;
line-height:1.2em;
text-transform:uppercase;
letter-spacing:.2em;
font: normal normal 200% Arial, Serif;
(Here insert: display:none; )
}

How I Changed my Favicon

You can see that small icon that appears in your browser box when you open my blog. It does not look like the old default blogger icon. And how I did that now I tell you.[...]

Firstly you need an icon to be your favicon. You can download it from anywhere from the net. Or else you can use any image from your computer. Now upload this image to your image hosting server.
I will recommend you to download your template in case any error occurs.
And then follow these steps:
1) Login to your Blog account and go to HTML editor.

2) Under the and above section find this line:

3) If you find the line, good, now you can see a URL in that line. Change it, write the URL of your image.

4) If you don’t find that line then create one. Just after your section write that line. And don’t forget to change the URL of the image.

NOTE: The URL of the image is the URL your image hosting server gives you for a particular image. However I uploaded my “ninja” image from my computer to Photobucket and then changed the URL.

After following these steps save your template and see your new icon.

Photobucket can be very useful especially if you are a Blogger. Even I use it to host many of my images. It can be used to host images to be included as banners, headers, contextual pics, and most importantly in favicons for your blogs. [...]

I have used Photobucket in my header, you can see my header, it is not a normal blogger header. For many of my banners from Clickbank and other programs I have used Photobucket. I also use it for hosting my favicon, you can see I have used my own favicon and not the Blogger favicon. In my next articles I will show how I use Photobucket for my site.

Links are very important for any website not only for increasing site rank and search engine crawling but also for attracting more visitors. Here are some tips for using hyperlinks:
1) Try to have as many related sites link back to you. Its not just about the number of backlinks but also about quality of backlinks. So the sites linking to your site but not related to your theme are useless.

2) Contextual Links are the best both for external and internal links. These links appear in context of your articles. If someone having a site related to your theme is ready to have link exchange with your site then ask him to ask him to add your links in the context of his articles and you do the same. Satisfying The Search Engines

Search Engines are certainly the best and free way to get more traffic to your blog. Here are some tips to increase chances of your blog being crawled by search engines
1) Make sure your blog’s title, subtitles and pages contain the keyword for blog.

2) Include your keywords in the hyperlinks while linking to your internal pages. For eg. you have a blog about Adsense then instead of a link like “click here to see that” you can use link like “view my article on Adsense tips“. See the link contains the keyword “Adsense”.

3) Search engines really don’t care about how many pages are linking back to you but what they care about is how many “quality backlinks” your page has. Its worthless if the site linking back to yours is not related to your theme.

4) While naming your pages too you could include your keywords. Instead of naming them like page1.htm name them like adsense-tips.htm.

5) Search engines love sites with good and lots of content. So make it contentful.

6) Also do make it easier for your blog to be crawled by search engines. Make sitemaps for your blogs. You can do it on Googe and XML-Sitemaps.

7) When your site has at least 15 pages submit your URL to Google, Yahoo and MSN. Don’t bother about other search engines because many of them are just the portals of these big ones.

That’s it now your blog should be good enough to show up on Search Engines.

Launching A New Blog

The success of a new blog or website has definitely something to do with the first 3 weeks of its launching. The rich bloggers of today also started their blogs just like we are doing but they also did something else. Some of those things are:

1) Connect to your readers by giving them a chance to contact you or know about you. This can be done by adding a WELCOME MESSAGE or an ABOUT PAGE.

2) Don’t run after promotion while having just 2 or 3 posts on your blog. First try to make your blog some contentful.

3) Make sure to add your feedlink on some top of your blog so that readers don’t have any problem with subscription.

4) Also do add E mail subscription link for your blog. This way you can gain much knowledge of your subscribers. Feedburner and Feedblitz offer this service for free.

5) While posting articles try to include your keywords at least in the title, subtitle, first and last sentences of your articles.

6) Try to have the name of your blog similar to your keywords. For eg. if your blog is about forex then your blog could be forex.com or foreign-exchange.com or something like that. You can use hyphen(-) in order to use multiple important keywords.

7) When your site has at least 15 pages submit your URL to Google, Yahoo and MSN. Don’t bother about other search engines because many of them are just the portals of these big ones.

And now the real fun begins. You have launched your new blog. Now start attracting more traffic to it.

Creating or Finding Good Blog Templates

Blog templates can easily be created by one’s ownself but to do that you need to have a software like NVU or Sothink. Both these softwares are free to download and its easy to design a template with them. But if you don’t want start it from scratch then you can also find good templates on search engines. There are many sites that give you templates for different hosts for free. But if you want a premium template just for your blog you can place an order. One site site that I found very useful to download Blogger and WordPress templates is EBlogTemplates. There are many great templates and most importantly they are free to download. The information regarding how to upload these templates and related things are provided there itself.
