Good tips.Would like to point out one missing part from the post. Article submitting is a great way to get more back links. And there are web sites who can do all the work for FREE or for very less work. Blog carnivals are another great way to get back links. I didn’t think it would be successful. But Turned out i am wrong. It is a great way to get traffic as well as links.
Keep up the good work :-)

The only thing on that list I haven’t done is hold an EC contest, which I think I may soon, gotta come up with a new approach though.

I like the idea of designing your own template for link baiting. Now I understand why people spend hours of work to create one template for free.

Great tips, Chetan but aren’t you going to activate that Top Commentator plugin on this blog?

This is smart stuff – bloggers love to write about each other and it’s well known that borrow each others ideas and usually link.

Wondering what you think about those who borrow and don’t link back. I’m soliciting testers for a service that helps do just this – it’s free right now. One of my questions is how often bloggers don’t link and if the service can be used to help identify links.

Anyways – interested in your thoughts.

Thanks!
